An Intimate Cocktail Bar in New Orleans

Peychaud’s is an intimate cocktail bar in New Orleans located inside The Celestine. It pays homage to New Orleans’ rich cocktail heritage, particularly that which is founded upon Peychaud’s Bitters. Named after 19th-century apothecary Antoine Amédée Peychaud, creator of the iconic bitters who raised his family in these very rooms, the bar blends New Orleans’ unique history with a sense of 21st century hospitality. With a menu of timeless cocktails like the Sazerac, the Hurricane, and the Grasshopper, Peychaud’s offers an inviting ambiance in an upbeat, warm and engaging space that evokes the elegance of the city’s golden age.

A Piece of Cocktail History

Antoine Amédée Peychaud, a Creole apothecary from the French colony of Saint-Domingue (now Haiti), raised his family in these very rooms.

He prescribed and dispensed his patented herbal bitters, Peychaud’s Bitters, which would later become the main ingredient to the famous and official cocktail of New Orleans – the Sazerac.

Peychaud’s bar was brought to life by Neal Bodenheimer from Cure Co. and reflects the visionary touch behind esteemed establishments like Cure, Vals, and Cane & Table.
