Kick off Essence Fest weekend with Wine & Rhymes—a wine and rap-inspired evening where rhythm meets the vine. Set beneath the stars in our historic courtyard, this immersive experience pairs laid-back tasting with jazz and hip-hop instrumentals, poetry, and casual education. Think lo-fi beats, freestyle flow, and a glass of something new in your hand.

Cocktail Tasting With Toby Maloney
Join two time James Beard Award winner Toby Maloney for an hour and a half Tasting menu of cocktails. There are only six seats per session, so you will have a personal bartender whipping up deliciousness and banter. Toby will create six fun-sized cocktails that will follow a customized narrative arc. We will talk a bit about your likes and loathes, find common ground and then it's off to the races. There will be books for purchase, signed by Toby if desired. If you already have a book, bring it, Toby will happily scrawl a little something.
